After Effects' AI Agent is HERE & Rive Can't Stop Won't Stop | Motion Mondays
After Effects can now take spoken instructions and build an editable rig, Rive shipped another pile of serious animation tools, and Dash Bash is bringing five hundred motion designers back to Raleigh.
This week: Adobe's new AI assistant works inside an actual After Effects project, where it can create layers, write expressions, and handle repetitive setup while the artist keeps control, while Rive added better vector drawing, keyframe editing, character rigging, and data-driven animation.
Also this week, there is a tiny After Effects toolbar hack, a thoughtful Procreate Dreams update, and a much friendlier version of Lockdown. Ben Marriott explains how an animatic and a reusable wing cycle made an ambitious solo project possible. Ingi Erlingsson, State, and Kinisi supply the beautiful work, while Alex Walsh returns to 3D as our Student of the Week. School of Motion has two live community events coming up, Type Chopper is free, and Motion Hatch is asking whether successful freelancers should start studios at all.
