Overlord adds Photoshop Support & Unreal 5.7 Goes Green | Motion Mondays

Overlord ends the After Effects-Photoshop Cold War, Unreal Engine 5.7 drops with some big updates, and Apple goes old-school on branding.

This week on Motion Mondays, Overlord just added Photoshop support that actually builds editable After Effects layers instead of the usual static import nightmare, and it's honestly about time. Unreal Engine 5.7 dropped with Nanite Foliage so you can finally render dense vegetation without your computer having a meltdown, plus Substrate Materials hit production-ready status. We're also diving into Apple's new sonic logo where they went full practical effects with real glass instead of just rendering it digitally, which sparked quite the debate online.

Also, if you’ve been looking for a texture resource that goes beyond the standard grunge maps, we’ve got something you’re going to love. Plus we've got Furikake, a new lightweight particle system for After Effects, a free Cinema 4D rope plugin called Reeper that's shockingly useful, ZBrush's 25th anniversary teasers, and an incredibly useful tutorial from Eran Stern on hidden font glyphs in AE.
