Maxon ZBrush just came to iPad and it’s insanely powerful! Plus more updates to Maxon tools.

Today, Maxon released their September updates which includes lot’s of updates all around, but the big news is ZBrush for iPad:

In this video, EJ Hassenfratz takes you on a tour of Maxon’s game changing release of ZBrush for iPad. Finally you can sculpt on an iPad with the same professional tools as the powerful, industry standard 3D sculpting app for desktop.

Here’s a breakdown of all the Maxon September news:

ZBrush for iPad

  • The power of the leading sculpting app for the desktop comes to the iPad, being fully optimized for touch and the Apple Pencil
  • Fully redesigned and streamlined UI for the best ZBrush experience anywhere

Cinema 4D

  • New Follow Spline Particle Modifier allows you to easily have particles flow along a spline
  • Rigid Bodies now can inherit linear and angular velocities from particles
  • Force Object now supported by new rigid bodies along with updated rigid body connector settings
  • New Field Driver Tag allows you to control parameters of MoGraph and non-MoGraph objects using Fields
  • Asset Browser redesign that features a homepage with featured content, similar to Quixel Bridge
  • New Object Profiling Manager to see what items are slowing down your viewport speed
  • Improved OCIO color management
  • Support for exporting skeletal animations via USD

Redshift

  • Brute Force Caustics added that makes even more accurate and realistic caustics
  • RS Toon’s Contour Shader updated with support for tonemapping, Alpha Masks for more stylized outlines when using RS Toon Shader, and a Global Contour setting where you can control all contours simultaneously
  • RS Toon’s Tonemap Pattern shader now allows for custom patterns, unlocking limitless possibilities for toon shader looks
  • Added Z-Depth AOV pass for volumes
  • Cinema 4D subscriptions now include Redshift GPU
  • Redshift versions of Morph, Crane and Motion Camera presets now available
  • New Substance 3D Material presets for Redshift

Red Giant

  • Geo, Red Giant’s new tool for texturing and repeating 3D geometry in After Effects, packs even more creative potential with added support for rigged animation and built-in depth of field. Expanded cloner features like multiple materials and objects, plus several new formation controls take the heavy lifting out of your array-based shots 
  • Quality of life Particular Designer updates that include optimized preset search and navigation
  • New Parametric Curve tool that allows artists to better handle color and HDR video with an HDR curve

Maxon Studio

  • You can now save customizations you make to any templates as presets
  • New Motion Graphics Capsules added
  • Live updates for thumbnail previews

Maxon App

  • Artists can now switch licenses quickly, allowing for faster activations when moving from one computer to another
