Pioneering 3D Design Company Maxon Joins Forces with Video Effects and Motion Graphics Software and Tools Creator Red Giant 'to Better Serve the Post-Production and Content Creation Industries'
Maxon, the developer of the world's leading 3D animation software Cinema 4D, is no stranger to big news, especially recently — and today is no different.
Earlier in 2019, the German-based MoGraph company announced its acquisition of Redshift, an industry-standard GPU render engine, along with a new subscription model designed to lower the barrier of entry for aspiring 3D artists around the world. Today, "to better serve the post-production and content creation industries," Maxon has merged with video effects and motion graphics software and tools creator Red Giant under the media and entertainment division of Nemetschek Group.
“This merger is a major milestone, not only for Maxon and Red Giant but also for the design industry as a whole,” says David McGavran, CEO of Maxon, in a press release emailed to School of Motion. “Our combined technology and knowhow have the potential to progressively reshape the content creation landscape for years to come.”
Red Giant CEO Chad Bechert agrees, adding, “We look forward to working together under a shared vision of how to design powerful and approachable software to serve creative artists around the world.”
