KitBash BUYS ArtStation & Sketchfab?! + Blender on Android | Motion Mondays
KitBash acquires ArtStation and Sketchfab from Epic Games, Autodesk officially discontinues Mudbox, and the Blender Foundation previews Blender running on Android tablets.
KitBash3D expands its 3D asset ecosystem by purchasing portfolio platform ArtStation and web-based 3D viewer Sketchfab from Epic Games. Meanwhile, Autodesk ends Mudbox subscription sales after years of inactive development, offering active subscribers a final five-year maintenance license. In other 3D news, Ornatrix 4 for Cinema 4D ships with procedural Warp Roots and braid modifiers, while MableLink enables animated Maya scene transfers directly to Blender and Unreal Engine.
For 2D and motion design workflows, Adobe Illustrator beta refreshes its swatch libraries with dither and gradient presets, Command Frame adds action chaining to After Effects, and Tunnel Monster generates seamless animated loops. We also feature cool work including a stop-motion Sabotage recreation, a Calvin and Hobbes title sequence, Robin Lochmann's CGI showreel, and Student Spotlight designer Bhagyashree Jain.
